Los Alamitos Orthopaedic Medical & Surgical Group is a specialty orthopaedic surgical group located in Los Alamitos, California. We are led by a diverse team of surgeons who are on the forefront of Orthopaedic Medicine. Collectively, our doctors can treat almost any orthopaedic ailment in our state-of-the-art clinic located adjacent to the campus of Los Alamitos Medical Center. Our surgeons use this procedure to visualize, diagnose, and treat problems inside a joint when needed. It is performed through a few small incisions with the help of an arthroscope, a small, fiber-optic instrument consisting of a lens, light source, and video camera and is associated with faster recovery. my first visit to see Dr Jeffrey Wong. He went over my MRI with me along with x-rays and we discussed a strategy of what would be best for my condition. Answered all my questions and had a few suggestions for me. So I'm giving him five stars. It's very important to me when a doctor communicates well...

Scheduling is a nightmare. Gen from scheduling received screenshots and fax of my authorizations and refused to schedule. More than 4 separate calls on Friday, I continued following up for 3 weeks consistently on my work breaks politely. I sent over text confirmations, confirmed through insurance and PCP, all disproved with condescension. My only choice was to remove my referral and request for authorization elsewhere. I cannot overstate how disappointing this experience has been and I truly hope no one with more urgent surgeries goes through a similar experience.

My parent was referred here for hip/knee pain. Dr Jeffrey Wong was assigned their case, and from the start, only focused on his idea of what to do and how to treat. Personally, I've been through 6 knee surgeries, with more ahead in life, and Dr Wong's bedside manner lacks empathy of any kind. I have been through the injection my parent went through multiple times with good and bad practitioners, and he was amongst the worst. He is very much the jab and go, and expect the patient to jump up and feel absolutely amazing instantly. A good practitioner would have had a staff member ready at the door with a wheel chair to assist, which, after limping into the hallway in visible pain, one offered, and I accepted for my parent. Another consideration I've experienced is being offered a quick ice pack to alleviate initial pain/discomfort, and there was none. Dr Wong is the type that seems to thrive watching patients in pain instead of listening and hearing what the patient's complaint/issue is, and he only wants to focus on what he recommends, and limit how he answers patients questions to suit what he wants to do. Find another orthopedic doctor anywhere else. If negative stars could be left as a warning to avoid this doctor, that would be applicable for Dr Wong.

In February 2024, I saw Dr. Wong. He kept me waiting for 1 1/2 hours. He was in a bad mood and spoke to me disrespectfully. I asked for a referral for zilretta injections in my knees, which I've taken for years. He refused. He said we don't care it and it's too expensive. I told him my insurance company pays for it. He still refused and said I could only get cortisone. As a diabetic, cortisone can kill me. After the cortisone my blood sugar, which should be under 120 was at 450 for 5 days. I could of died. The only good thing about that office is Jet who works the front desk. Love her.

I've been dealing with knee issues for years. After my insurance changed, I started going to Los Alamitos Orthopedic. The care from the doctors has been great, and I'm grateful for their help in managing my situation. However, the phone system at Los Alamitos Orthopedic is a constant source of frustration. It's nearly impossible to reach them without insider knowledge, often leading to being redirected to their sister location. When I do get someone on the phone, unless it's a routine process or request, they are quick to throw up their hands. I get the feeling that they are overworked. Currently, I have an issue where I need their office to contact my insurance company to straighten out medical coding issues. The insurance company has tried to call their office on my behalf four times with me holding on the line. You have to have the cheat codes to get through the phone system. I talked to the office business manager, and she stated that she does not have the time to call the insurance company. When I asked what I should do, she said to call the insurance company. I said I had done that but needed some help. She said, "I can schedule an appointment", and that is about it. Good times!

I am so excited to have my knee replaced & everyone in the office has been so eager to help me prepare for my upcoming surgery. There is a wait for your appointment but when it is your time no one rushes you through. So it is only fair to wait patiently. I thank everyone for being so caring. I feel like I am in very good hands with Dr. Perry Secor!!
